This study was conducted about “The Use of Chain Whisper Ice Breaker in
Students` Learning English (A Study at SMP Negeri 5 Banda Aceh” while this
study aimed to know whether the use of chain whisper ice breaker change students
in learning English. And to know how students respond before and after the use of
chain whisper ice breaker in learning English. The study particularly involved
twenty six students to be sample with purposive sampling. The method applied
here was quatitative approach and data was collected based on the instrument of
pre-test, post-test and questionnaire. The data found on pre-test that the percentage
of correct students was 684% and incorrect was 315%. While data on post-test of
correct students was 7.69% and incorrect was 1.56%. the data on questionaaire
showed all students liked and were so interested in learning English by using the
game of chain whisper ice breaker.
