The title of this research is "The Impact of Self-Efficacy on Public Speaking
Skills." The purpose of this study is to determine how students' self-efficacy and
public speaking skill are correlated. This study aims to determine the relationship
between students' self-efficacy and public speaking skills. This study examines
the relationship between students' self-efficacy scores and their percentage of
influence on public speaking skills. To find the data needed, the researchers
conducted field research. A test and questionnaire are the method employed in this
research. Both tests and questionnaires were used to assess students' public
speaking skills and levels of self-efficacy. Students from the Department of
English Education, Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Muhammadiyah
Aceh during the 2019 academic years made up the population of this study. Only
18 of the 2019 batch's students were used as a sample by the researchers.
Following data analysis, the researchers discovered that there was a "strong
degree" correlation of 0.710 between students' self-efficacy, and public speaking
skill. In addition, the researcher also found that students' self-efficacy affects
public speaking skill about 50.41%. This shows that, it is important for lecturers
to pay attention to psychological aspects that can affect students' public speaking
skills, and also for students to be aware of their own self-efficacy that will affect
their public speaking skills.
